You’re great at what you do. Marketing? It’s not Your Favorite….
You know what you offer is worth paying for. Clients who find you stay. The problem is that “finding you” depends on referrals that come in waves and social media you don’t have time to maintain.
Meanwhile, you’ve got a half-built email funnel, a website that hasn’t been updated in 18 months, and a content strategy that’s… posting when you remember to.
You don’t need more tactics. You need someone to look at your specific business and guide you through setting the right priorities and how to do it.
Is coaching right for you?
Coaching isn’t for everyone. Why? Because coaching helps most when something specific is going on. Here are a few examples of when coaching could be right for you.
You’re at a transition point.
Scaling, pivoting, launching a new offer, restructuring your pricing. You need specific guidance for a specific situation.
Your marketing challenges are complex.
Funnel optimization, SEO, tech stack decisions, repositioning. Example: “which of these five priorities should I spend my limited hours on.”
You execute well but need direction.
You’ll do the work. You need someone who knows your business, looks at your numbers, and tells you what to work on next based on your goals.
Your life is complicated.
Caregiving, burnout, ADHD, financial stress. You need strategy that respects your actual capacity, not a content calendar built for someone with 20 hours a week.

Truly Wonderful Person to Work With
I first came across Jen McFarland through Xcelerate’s Women Spring Cohort, and was highly impressed by her knowledge in digital marketing. I quickly requested her to be my 1:1 Marketing Coach for my business, Boba Gems and cannot thank her enough on her guidance and expertise in SEO/Marketing (something I had been putting off for many years).
She helped me be more visible online as I restructure my business and I have gotten more sales online thanks to some tips and adjustments on my Shopify website.
Jen McFarland is truly a wonderful person to work with. All session hours I have scheduled with her has been a grand step towards my rebrand and is helping the foundations of my eCommerce business thrive.

What Coaching Covers
Four areas where solopreneurs consistently get stuck. Let’s solve it, together.
Marketing strategy and positioning
What you sell, who it’s for, why it’s different, and how to talk about it so the right people pay attention.
SEO and local visibility
Getting found when people search for what you do (AI/Google). Google Business Profile, on-page SEO, content that builds over time.
Funnels and email systems
The path from “someone found your website” to “someone booked a call.” We build the system, not a single campaign.
Tech stack and operations
Which tools you need, which you don’t, and how to connect them. If you’re logging into six platforms to do one thing, that’s an operations problem.

My Business Feels More Aligned
After working with Jen, my business feels more aligned with my values than ever before, and my inbox is full of wonderful, like-minded individuals. I was averaging the third page of Google before Jen’s mentorship. I’m on that first page now.

Weigh Your Options
How coaching compares
vs. an agency ($3K to $10K+/mo):Â They do the work. You’re dependent. When you stop paying, the marketing stops. Coaching costs a fraction and you keep what you build. The tradeoff: you implement.
vs. courses ($100 to $2K): 85 to 90% never finish. Courses teach tactics for everyone. Coaching builds strategy for your business. Full comparison.
vs. the Membership: Group sessions, templates, community. Great for straightforward challenges and steady accountability. Coaching is for complex, high-stakes, or situation-specific work.
vs. a Strategy engagement: One-time project: audit, sessions, roadmap. Coaching is ongoing. Most Strategy clients move into Coaching or the Membership for execution support.
vs. Local SEO services: Done-for-you, one-time project. If you need local visibility built, start there. If you need ongoing strategic guidance across all channels, that’s coaching.

Incredibly Valuable
Working with Jen McFarland has been incredibly valuable. I always look forward to our meetings and appreciate how well she meets me where I am with my business development. As a small business owner for the past three years, I’ve benefited from her thoughtful advice, practical short-term goals, and encouragement to think strategically about the future.
When I run into roadblocks, technical or otherwise, Jen helps me work through them and find a clear path forward. I leave our meetings feeling supported and confident about the progress I’m making as I grow my business. Our time together is always well spent, and I see the positive results of her assistance in the weeks afterward.

Frequently Asked Questions
Courses teach tactics designed for a general audience. Coaching builds strategy for your specific business, your market, and your capacity. You get a partner who knows your numbers, your goals, and your constraints. The other difference: accountability. 85 to 90% of people who buy courses never finish them. Coaching clients show up because someone is waiting for them with questions.
We look at what you’ve done since the last session, review what’s working and what isn’t, and decide what to focus on next. Some sessions are strategic (positioning, offer structure, channel decisions). Some are tactical (reviewing your email sequence, auditing a landing page, troubleshooting a tech integration). Every session ends with clear next steps you can act on before we meet again.
Most clients work with me for three to six months. The goal is never indefinite coaching. It’s to build the systems and confidence to run your marketing yourself. When we reach that point, we both know it’s time to close our engagement. Many clients move to the Membership for ongoing community support at a lower price point.
That’s what the free consult is for. Thirty minutes, no pitch. I’ll ask about your business, your goals, and what you’ve tried. If coaching is the right fit, I’ll explain why. If something else makes more sense (the Membership, a Strategy engagement, Local SEO services, or nothing at all), I’ll say that instead. Book a free consult.
Yes. Funnel optimization, SEO strategy, tech stack decisions, email automation, and analytics are all within scope. This isn’t life coaching or mindset work. It’s marketing strategy and execution with someone who understands the technical side.
Yes. All coaching sessions happen over video call. About half of current clients are outside Oregon. Location doesn’t affect the quality of the work.
We offer a free consult and a one-time session if you want to try before you buy intensive coaching or strategic check-ins, which have a three-month minimum commitment. After the initial three months, coaching continues month-to-month and you can cancel with 30 days’ notice.

30 minutes. No pitch. I’ll tell you whether coaching, the Membership, a Strategy engagement, or something else is the right fit. If the answer is “you don’t need me right now,” I’ll let you know that, too.
